Aleksandra Popadich received her bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery from the University of Otago in New Zealand. She then went on to complete her fellowship training at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, focusing on endocrine surgery and surgical oncology. Dr. Popadich stays active in her field through memberships with the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons and the Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand. She is an exceptionally experienced breast, endocrine, and general surgeon who has been in practice for more than 5 years and is currently serving patients at Penn State Hershey Neurology, the Department of Neurology at Wakefield Hospital in Newton, New Zealand, and Wellington Hospital in Wellington, New Zealand. Dr. Popadich has vast expertise in several areas relating to her line of work, including thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, breast, and core general surgery. Breast surgery is a form of surgery performed on the breast, such as following diagnosis of a malignant tumor. Endocrine surgery is a surgical subspecialty focusing on surgery of the endocrine glands, including the thyroid gland, the parathyroid glands, the adrenal glands, glands of the endocrine pancreas, and some neuroendocrine glands. General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. Dr. Popadich attributes her success to hard work. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her two dogs.
