Can you put veneers over crowns?
No, it doesn’t work to bond a veneer over a crown - besides not bonding well - it would be too thick & not look natural. An old or failing crown would need to be removed and replaced with a new crown. I hope that is helpful and makes sense. Roger Humphreys DDS READ MORE

Which is better, root canal or implant?
If the tooth has healthy bone and gum tissue supporting it and if the tooth has adequate tooth structure to support a crown after a root canal has been done - it is usually better to save the natural tooth by having a root canal performed. It is usually a more natural result and less expensive to save a natural tooth with a root canal and crown compared to extracting a tooth and doing an implant and crown. READ MORE
What is the best way to treat dental plaque?
The best way to remove plaque is routine flossing and brushing. However, after plaque has been left on the teeth long enough, it will harden into tarter. At this point you need to have your teeth professionally cleaned by a dental hygienist. You will not be able to brush or floss off the tarter. If the tarter is not removed, it causes inflammation of the gum tissues. This will lead to gum disease and bone loss if you let go long enough. This is the most common cause of loss of teeth. Hope that helps to answer your question. READ MORE
