Keith D. Chirgwin, MD is the Deputy Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, Washington. Holding over 32 years of experience, he specializes in infectious diseases, vaccines and drug development. Dr. Chirgwin was educated at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. He is also a former HIV researcher, associate professor of medicine at State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, and vice president at Merck Research Labs. Dr. Chirgwin understands the contributions that academia and industry can make to global health.
