Thorkild Vad Norregaard, MD is an assistant clinical professor of neurosurgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Before joining the faculty at MU�s Hugh E. Stephenson Jr., MD, Department of Surgery in 2009, Dr. Norregaard was an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School for 14 years. Following this appointment, he established a private practice in Boston. His clinical practice focuses primarily on neurosurgery, treating movement disorders, chronic pain, minimally invasive spine surgery and neurovascular surgery. Dr. Norregaard attended medical school at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. Following medical school, he completed extensive training in neurological surgery, orthopaedic surgery, neurology and general medicine. He spent one year of mid-level general surgical training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Norregaard finished his neurosurgical training at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He also spent two years doing research on cerebral blood vessels and neural regeneration at Harvard Medical School and MIT. Additionally, Dr. Norregaard has several years of experience as a consultant for the medical device industry, focusing on translational research, as well as consulting to the venture capital industry.
