Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Montsko graduated with her medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela School of Medicine in 1994. She then relocated to the United States, performing her residency in family medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani (Morton Plant Mease Health Care) in 2006.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor.
