Is a butt lift safe and all it's made out to be?
Although it has been done hundreds of times, the parameters to decide how to do it safely are still being worked out. There have been a large number of deaths from improper technique. READ MORE
What are the risks of having a second breast augmentation to fix the first?
The risks are essentially the same as the first except the surgery will be more involved. READ MORE
After burning my arm with a curling iron, what can I do to prevent scarring?
If there were blisters, there will likely be some scarring that cannot be avoided. Using creams such as Silvadene will help it heal and then using Copper Peptide creams after will also help the healing process, but it mostly depends on the depth of the burn. You also need to wear total sunblock on that area to avoid it getting darker in skin color READ MORE
Does laser treatment work for correcting acne scars?
A CO2 laser will help, but results are not permanent; it can take 3-4 weeks before the redness fades and then you will be pink for a couple of months. I perform it under general anesthesia, so I can go deeper and have it not hurt. It does not hurt much once the session is over. READ MORE
Is minoxidil safe for male pattern baldness?
That is a possible side effect of the minoxidil. Continued use will likely continue to cause dandruff. Stopping it will let it settle down over a few weeks. May need to try other hair products such as Nioxin, but it may not reverse the hair loss as well as minoxidil READ MORE
Will my diabetes hinder my lip surgery?
As long as your diabetes is under control, there should not be any problems with healing. READ MORE
What are the risk factor associated with a plastic surgery?
There are risks right after the surgery like bleeding and infection. Luckily, they are very rare. In terms of the long term, there are issues such as capsular contracture, where the tissue around the implant shrinks and makes the breast feel firm or hard and painful. There is also the risk of the implant breaking or leaking. The chances of that seem a little higher in saline implants than silicone filled implants. There are other normal things that can happen but I would not consider them risks in the traditional sense READ MORE
I have a birth mark around my waist that looks very ugly. Can it be removed with plastic surgery?
Removal of the birth mark can be done, but the trade off is a scar. If the birthmark is just a darker spot, a series of lasers can fade the color, but in most cases, as birthmarks are deeper than the darkness from sun damage, they will not work for all patients READ MORE
What is the aftercare required after plastic surgery to treat a scar?
I have my patients use either Scar Guard or Mederma starting 2-4 days after the sutures are out, as well as you sunblock instead of sunscreen. I have them use that regimen for at least 6 months READ MORE
Can I change my skin color with plastic surgery?
There is no safe way to lighten your skin tone I am afraid READ MORE
PRP before or after fillers?
The PRP will not minimize the results of the fillers. It should not cause any downtime, except there is fluid injected so the areas might be a little puffy for a few hours. If they do micro-needling, then your skin will be red for a few hours, maybe more READ MORE
Skin feels bumpy after IPL
That can happen if the settings on the IPL were a little too high, but it gets better in a few days. It should not cause any long term problems. Just don't use any harsh cleansers on your face in the meantime READ MORE
Mom died of breast cancer- need feedback on nipple sparing masectomy
The appearance and feel after a nipple sparing mastectomy will never be as good as what you have at present. The surgery is not necessarily more painful, but the end appearance and result will not be as good. You need to weigh that in comparison to monitoring yourself for breast cancer. I suggest getting an MRI scan with a breast coil over a mammogram as it detects tumors much earlier if you want to keep the implants you have. Many surgeons promote exchanging implants in 10 years but as long as they are not broken or you are having another problem, I would leave them alone. READ MORE

What do you attribute your success to?
Dr. Garcia??s goal for every patient is education. The more you understand about eachplastic surgery procedure, the better prepared you will be to make the right decisions about which procedures you want in order to achieve your cosmetic goals. This commitment is the cornerstone of Dr Garcia's practice that he demonstrates through his Ask Dr Garcia service.
Dr. Garcia :
I attribute my success to the upbringing my parents gave me. My father was a physician also and he instilled in me a sense of duty to provide medical services to patients in an empathetic manner. My mother taught me how important a personal connection was and that good communication would make for better relationships with friends and business people. She taught me that caring for others came first over anything else.

Philanthropic Initiatives
Dr Garcia is honored to be part of a great fundraiser for one of the most worthy causes I have seen. Goody Two Shoes Foundation raises money to provide shoes for under-privileged children in the Clark County School District. They provide 10,000 pairs of shoes to these kids every year, dispersing the shoes weekly. He is not only honored to be a supporter of the event but also enjoyed all of the people there sharing together for such a great cause. If you are looking to help out a charity in any way, please consider Goody Two Shoes Foundation, they are awesome.

Couldn't say enough about Dr. Garcia in a positive way. Talk about an artist with wonderful work ethics and professionalism. I will always refer him to others with my word, cause I trust him with it.

Dr. Garcia and his staff are amazing. From my initial consultation through my three month follow up, I was treated with kindness, patience, and felt completely at ease. Dr. Garcia answered all my questions without rushing me or making me feel like I was just one of many patients. I love his wonderful staff, especially his awesome nurse Kathy. My results are amazing. I could not be happier or more highly recommend a physician's office.
I've been a patient of Dr. Garcia's for the past ten years. He is an excellent surgeon and a very compassionate person. I would highly recommend him for any cosmetic surgery procedure. I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. Sally, Arizona

I have been seeing Dr. Julio since the mid 90's. I am reminded on almost a weekly basis how he has improved my life as reflected in my level of confidence. Business colleagues are so often surprised to learn that I am 65 and without Dr. Garcia I have no doubts that I would look my age and then some. I cannot help but notice when women have over tightened over injected facial distortion and over the years, it has become apparent, Dr. Garcia has the eyes and soul of a true artist, and unlike many cosmetic surgeons, Dr. Garcia is truly a compassionate healer, and as a cosmetic patient, I have a unique story to tell. I also credit Dr. Garcia with saving my life. Upon discovery of a lump in my breast in 1998, he arranged for an immediate mammogram and expeditiously performed a biopsy after my primary Doctor informed me it would be 3 weeks before I could come in for a first visit. The lump I had discovered was benign yet he discovered a stage 1 breast tumor that may not have appeared in the mammography for several years. Nearly 20 years later I remain cancer free, loving life and looking good at 65! Thank you Dr. Julio!!

Very happy with results

Dr Garcia and his staff are the best. I have had Botox and fillers and have been very happy with the results. My daughter was married this year and I had my treatments before her big day. I received many compliments that day thanks to Dr Garcia.
I am a long time patient of Dr. Garcia's. I have returned for various procedures over the years such as breast revision, rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, and liposuction, as well as a life long patient for Botox and fillers (Sculptra & Restylane). The reasons that I have continually returned to Dr. Garcia and his practice are many. The most important reason is his honesty about whether or not a certain procedure is the "right" one for me. My expectations were always met, especially after the thorough consultation. I was also very impressed with the follow up care I received from Dr. Garcia and his staff. Being a patient of Dr. Garcia's is an experience from the moment you are greeted at reception, to the consultation with the doctor and his registered nurses, to the surgery centers, and follow up care. I would highly recommend him to any potential patient.
I have had the pleasure of having two treatments so far with Dr. Julio Garcia for the treatment of Kybella. I was so excited to hear about this new product that was on the market for under the chin fat. I have felt self conscious about my double chin and really wanted to see if I was a good candidate for Kybella. So far I have had two treatments and will be going on my third soon. I am extremely happy! The procedure itself is so easy and painless, plus Dr. Garcia is so gentle . I also love that it is noninvasive and you can return to your daily activities the next day! You can expect some mild swelling and numbness in the area for a few weeks, but that is the only side effects I experienced! I am loving my result so far and can only highly suggest that you see Dr. Garcia for this procedure because of his knowledge, expertise and bed side manner.
