Rafael Angel Gonzalez-Pupo is a vascular surgeon currently in residency training at the University of Toronto. With over 21 years of experience, he specializes in general surgery, vascular surgery and cardiac surgery. Dr. Gonzalez-Pupo was educated at the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences in Santiago de Cuba. He completed residencies at the University Hospital in Holguin and University of Havana, followed by fellowships at the University of Toronto and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Dr. Gonzalez-Pupo is a professional member of the Canadian Medical Association, the Ontario Medical Association, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Canadian Society for Vascular Surgery. In June 2016, he will be writing the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada exam in the specialty of vascular surgery.
