  • Do heel bone fractures require surgery?

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are dealing with a fractured heel. There are two main types of calcaneal fractures, intra-articular and extra-articular. Both require different treatment protocols. I would be happy to review your x-rays with you and formulate a treatment plan. At Noah Foot and Ankle we have digital x-rays so I could take xrays and transfer them to the treatment room and manipulate them on the computer to further explain your condition to help you understand what would need to be performed to treat your condition. It would be my pleasure to discuss your condition further. Please call the office during normal buisness hours and we will set up an appointment to address your painful condition. Thank you for your inquiry. READ MORE

  • Could weight be a contributing factor for ankle and knee pain?

Hello and thank you for your question. I have found that some foot and ankle conditions are not directly correlated with an increase in weight. You could have a structural foot and ankle condition that predisposes your to foot/ankle pain. It would be helpful to know your activity level and your occupation along with a complete workup. Please contact the office during normal buisness hours if you have additional questions and concerns. Thank you for your inquiry! READ MORE

  • I have a painful, swollen ankle following an injury. What to do?

Hello and thank you for your question. It seems you have suffered an ankle sprain according to your question. There are three grades of ankle sprain, grade one which is microtears in the ligament , grade two which is a partial tear in the ligament and grade 3 which is a complete tear. With a grade 1 or 2 tear I recommend a period of immobilization, RICE, anti-inflammatory medications, and a compression dressing which is often overlooked in treatment of ankle sprains. Also physical therapy is a advanced conservative treatment option I routinely advise. A grade 3 sprain is more challenging from a conservative standpoint to treat. I would be happy to evaluate your injury and provide a complete workup. If you have questions please feel free to contact the office during normal buisness hours. Thank you so much for your inquiry. • I have a corn in my foot. Can corn cap remove that?

Hello and thank you for the question. In my experience in treating plantar foot lesions on the foot, they typically do not go away with over the counter treatment. There is an in office procedure to remove the skin lesion that requires local anesthesia. With that said, i have good results treating skin lesions with debridements that do not require anesthesia and salicylic acid treatments. I would have to examine your particular lesion to assess it more accurately. If you have additional questions please feel free to call the office during normal buisness hours. Thank you for your inquiry. READ MORE

  • Why am I experiencing ankle pain after two years of arthroscopic surgery?

Hello and thank you for the question. I am sorry you are having ankle pain two years after surgery. There are numerous reasons you could be having pain and it is premature for me to comment on what may be going on without a complete workup. Sometimes talar dome lesions are missed but I am sure the surgeon ordered a MRI pre operatively for pre-op planning. Please contact the office for additional questions. Thank you for your inquiry.
