A Croatian native, Dr. Samsa received her medical degree from the University of Zagreb Medical School. She then went on to complete an internship at the Health Care Institute in Zagreb, a Postgraduate Course in Oncology at the University of Zagreb Medical School, and her residency and research fellowship with the Department of Medicine and Nephrology at Holy Spirit Hospital.
After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine, and her fellowship in nephrology and hypertension at Beth Israel Medical Center.
Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in nephrology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey, Dr. Samsa is an attending physician at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Clara Maass Medical Center, UMC Hackensack/Mountainside Medical Center, Columbus LTACH, and Select Specialty LTACH. Ranka Samsa, MD, is a 1986-graduate of The University of Zagreb/Sveučilište u Zagrebu Medicinski Fakultet. His postgraduate training includes his internship at the Healthcare Institute in Zagreb, Croatia, and residency served at the Holy Spirit Hospital in Croatia.
