Dr. Michael R. Sood, MD, MS, FACC FACP, FSCMR  is a cardiologist practicing in Oceanside, New York. Dr. Sood specializes in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases or conditions of the heart and blood vessels and the cardiovascular system. These conditions include heart attacks, heart murmurs, heart failure, arrhythmia's, coronary heart disease, and hypertension. As a general cardiologist, he takes pride in very often managing these and other complex conditions and bieng on the forefront to help support and guide decisions for patients and as their primary advocate.

Dr.  Sood also practices various aspects of preventative medicine, helping patients maintain a heart-healthy life.  Additionly he helps manage the inpatient consultative services and enjoys various aspects of cardiac critical care.  He is the subspecialty education coordinator and takes great pride in teaching and mentoring physicians and students.  He is the Director of advanced cardiac Imaging with cardiac MRI and performs transesophageal echocardograms and cardioversion and is the Director of the Non-Invasive Section.  Dr. Sood has had an extensive and diverse background having traveled extensively and studied internationally during undergrad and beyond. He played sports including football, for which he would like to coach more.  He is an Eagle Scout. He plays numerous instruments and grew up surfing. He loves to learn and engage in conversation.  In his spare time, he also enjoys boating and sailing.
