Why do I have a fever after my flu shot?

Get to know Family Practitioner Dr. Tania Akers-White, who serves patients in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Akers-White, affectionately called “Dr. Tania”, is the Medical Director at Lifestyle & Wellness Medical Center, a multi-specialty healthcare center that provides a wide variety of personalized medical services in Richmond, Virginia. By targeting obesity, Lifestyle & Wellness Medical Center is addressing one of the biggest epidemics in the United States. It is at the center that Dr. Akers-White works with and counsels women in the areas of healthy weight loss/management, family planning, menopause, hormone replacement therapy (including bioidentical hormones), skin rejuvenation/ botox, cosmetic surgical procedures and liposuction for fat reduction and body contouring.
Dr. Akers-White completed her undergraduate work at the University of Virginia and earned her graduate degree in Public Health from George Washington University. Wanting to further her education, she received medical training at Ponce School of Medicine and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.
Dr. Akers-White is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Founded in 1969, ABFM is a not-for-profit, private organization whose mission is to improve the health of the public through board certification, residency training, research, leadership development, and promoting the development of the specialty of Family Medicine. Furthermore, Dr. Akers-White is currently pursuing her board certification in Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Akers-White maintains professional memberships with the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. She is also affiliated with numerous hospitals, including Johnston Memorial Hospital, CJW Medical Center – Chippenham Campus, CJW Medical Center – Johnston-Willis Campus, and Memorial Regional Medical Center.
Family medicine, formerly family practice, is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages.
