Will my son be ok?
Yes, he should be fine as long as the urine test was negative and he isn't having abdominal pain. Just keep an eye on him for increasing signs of distress or infection. If he placed a lot of water/air and he has some pelvic distension, then he needs further work up. The most important thing is to try to prevent this from happening again. It is not good to put anything in the urethra unless medically necessary. Talk to him and try to find out why he did it. READ MORE
How do I manage an edema and hydrocele?
Hydroceles don't typically come and go. It may be that you have scrotal edema which is related to the edema you have in the rest of your body. Your NP can order a scrotal ultrasound to be sure. The cystoscopy is a camera that is passed through the urethra all the way into the bladder. The procedure is done in the office and takes only a few minutes. Most patients will say the procedure is uncomfortable but not too much pain. READ MORE

Yes, it can be a sign of infection amongst other things. It would be best to see your primary care doctor for evaluation. READ MORE
Other than a UTI what can be other causes of burning sensation while urinating?
There are certain foods that cause burning with urination: caffeine, spicy food, acid foods, etc. There is a condition called interstitial cystitis that presents with symptoms of a uti but the cultures are neg. This can be diagnosed by a Urologist near you. READ MORE
Can smoking cause urinary incontinence?
Yes, when people smoke they tend to cough more. The added stress on the urethra and muscles surrounding the urethra can become weak and lead to incontinence. You should be evaluated and try to quit smoking if possible. READ MORE
Can recurrent kidney stones cause permanent damage to my urinary tract?
Each time you need surgery or pass a kidney stone you can develop scar tissue from trauma. The best thing to do is follow your doctor's advice and try to prevent any further stones. READ MORE
