Get to know Clinical Psychologist Dr. Lisa Marie Townsend, who serves patients in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Dr. Townsend is a licensed clinical psychologist who is currently serving patients at her private practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her areas of expertise include memory care, neuropsychology, and traumatic brain injury. 

She is a member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, a professional society of clinicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals who are interested in movement disorders.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Townsend earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from the Colorado School of Professional Psychology. She attributes her success to the art and science of understanding the human brain, the great people who have inspired her over the years, and the new treatments that will be coming out in the future.

Clinical psychology is an integration of science, theory, and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective well-being and personal development. Clinical psychologists meet with clients to identify problems, emotional, mental and behavioral, in their lives. Through observation, interviews, and tests, the clinical psychologist will diagnose any existing or potential disorders.

On a more personal note, Dr. Townsend enjoys running in her spare time. Her favorite professional publication is the Journal of Neuropsychology.
