Dr. Jay P. Shah, MD, is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports injuries, ACL reconstruction, and other complex issues of the knee and shoulder. He recently joined Unity Healthcare Alliance in Las Colinas. Prior to that, he spent 7+ years serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his practice.
After earning his Medical Degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Dr. Shah completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He further honed his skills in sports medicine through a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine while serving as an assistant team physician for several of Houston’s professional teams, including the Texans, Rockets, Astros, and Dynamo. He trained under renowned sports surgeons in both Birmingham and Houston and brings these techniques, skills and expertise to each and every person he has the privilege to serve.
Board certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery as well as Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Shah joined Unity Healthcare alliance in June of 2024 as Director of Surgical Services and Board Secretary.
