Dr. Yehya is a highly skilled Cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation at Sentara Healthcare. He serves as the Medical Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program and holds the position of Associate Professor of Medicine at the Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University. Additionally, Dr. Yehya is the Director of Heart Failure Research and Program Director for the Cardiology Fellowship at Sentara Healthcare and Old Dominion University.
Dr. Yehya completed his Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation fellowship at Stanford University, where he gained extensive expertise in managing complex heart failure cases. He also completed his Internal Medicine residency at Emory University and his Cardiovascular Diseases fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. He earned both his Master’s Degree in Biochemistry and his Medical Degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon.
Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation, and Echocardiography, Dr. Yehya is recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Failure Society of America. He is also a proud member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society. Dr. Yehya has been recognized as one of the top Cardiologists in Virginia by FindaTopDoc.com and has received the Excellence in Research Award from the Heart Failure Society of America.
An accomplished researcher and educator, Dr. Yehya has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences and is an invited speaker in the field of heart failure and transplantation. Dr. Yehya is also the Editor of the book Heart Failure: What a Non-Heart Failure Specialist Needs to Know.
Dr. Yehya is deeply committed to providing exceptional patient care and is a strong advocate for his patients. Outside of his clinical and academic duties, he enjoys traveling and volunteering.
