My eye looks different because of my astigmatism. Anything I can do?
Astigmatism is a fairly common refractive error which cause things to appear blurry or distorted. It can usually be corrected with glasses, contacts, or laser vision correction. Best thing to do is schedule an evaluation with an ophthalmologist to see which option is best for you. Now as far as your eyes appearance, I not sure why it appears different than the other. I recently did my LASIK with Dr.Roberts and love waking up in the morning with clear vision. I don't miss my glasses at all! I was a bit nervous the day of the procedure but Dr. Roberts talks you thru the process step by step so you know what to expect. I was surprised by how quick the procedure was and excited to see clearly 4 hours later!

HIGHLY recommended! I was a nervous wreck going into the consultation. The thought of being awake through a surgery. I'm 40 years old having to deal with cataract. But let me tell you....Dr. Roberts and the whole staff and crew of Shady Grove Ophthalmology was marvelous! I felt very welcomed and at the same time they were very professional. I had been debating having lasik for several years but I always passed on having it done because of my severe phobia. After just my initial consult with Dr. Roberts I felt so reassured that I went ahead and booked my procedure ( his staff was even nice enough to accommodate me with an appointment time that was soon and convenient for my schedule). The procedure itself was so quick and painless- Dr. Roberts talked to me throughout the entire procedure and I barely even flinched. I walked out less than 10 minutes later and could see! His amazing chairside manner, wonderful staff, and great facility have made this a wonderful experience for me. I definitely recommend him!!

Dr. Roberts did the eye surgery for both of my eyes and the results changed my life. After years of parking glasses all over the house so I could see to read laundry labels, instructions, recipes, and my Kindle, and remembering to take my distance glasses to drive and to the theater, I now can see everything near and far with my new multi focal lenses. It's absolutely amazing. Dr. Roberts was as amazing as my new eyes. A friendlier, more caring, professional Doctor you will not find. Even called me at home to see how I was doing after the surgery. The office staff is equally friendly and professional. And the office has some really great art--which of course I can see better now! Don't hesitate to trust your eyes to Dr. Roberts. I am very impressed with the work that Dr Roberts did on my eyes. I came in to see him about cataract surgery and had both eyes done with in the week the surgery was effort less and very pain free, discomfort was very minimal and painless. I had my surgery done with out having to be put to sleep and was aware of every thing that was going on. I cannot stress how much Dr Roberts have made this process fearless for me, I have put off this surgery for a long time and if I know that it was as simple as Dr.Roberts made it I would have done it a long time ago. I would recommend that you come and get your cataract surgery done at his practices you will definitely see results the same day. I can see! It's truly insane how you can go from being almost blind to seeing perfectly in a single day. I came in for my consultation on a Monday and had my surgery the next day. Dr. Roberts is the best! He answered all the questions I had and he guided me through the process. The surgery took only 10 minutes, about 5 minutes on each eye. I'm so glad I found Dr. Roberts to take care of my eyes. I wish I would have done this sooner!

Dr. Roberts was referred to me by a family member - Madeleine Pare about a year ago. I was told by an eye specialist. That I would not ever be able to have surgery implant of an iOS lens due to my complicated astigmatism. After my initial consultation Dr Roberts educated me on the iOS lens surgery and explained to me that I would be a candidate and would have a good chance of see better. My day to day routine was so cumbersome having to wear contact lens and then a pair of reading glasses; not to mention the high cost of regular glasses. The 1st lens was not the outcome expected - Dr Roberts knew he could get me to the expectations we had set together. The lens was corrected and we moved then we were able to move on to the next eye. Not expecting to see right after surgery-- I was able to see clear and as the day progressed it got better and better. Waking up the next day and seeing clearer than I had ever awaken too- was an amazing feeling. His professionalism and experience is exceptional and I would recommend his service and guidance to anyone in my family and book of friends. Thank you Dr. Roberts for taking the extra time and steps to helping me see so clear without having to wear contact or glasses.....Much much appreciated.....I only regret, I should have done years ago had I gotten that 2nd opinion back then.

I came to Dr. Roberts interested in LASIK surgery, and he was wonderful, very informative at my initial consult and every follow up appointment. From my initial fact finding visit to the follow up visit after my second lens replacement surgery, the whole process far exceeded my expectations. Dr. Roberts is a very relaxed and reassuring man who takes the time to answer all your questions and concerns. I went into both surgeries feeling very confident and he did not disappoint.
