Ronald F. Moser, DDS is a dentist with his own private practice in Bowie, Maryland. Dr. Moser received his undergraduate degree from American University and went on to receive his dental degree from Howard University Dental School. An active member of organized dentistry for more than 23 years, he has served as the legislative chairman for the Maryland State Dental Association since 2001. He has served on the Peer Review Committee, was the president of his component society, as well as a member of the Governor's Commission on HIPAA regulation and privacy issues for the residents of Maryland. Dr. Moser is a member of the honorary societies of the Pierre Fouchard Academy, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. He has written numerous articles on legislative affairs in the State of Maryland. In 2010, Dr. Moser received an appointment by Governor O'Malley to the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners for a four year term. After his four year term, he was re-appointed to the Board of Dental Examiners, and is currently serving as President.

Yes, definitely. Just be careful if the partials cover any part of the roof of your mouth, you lose a bit of temperature sensation. Don't burn your throat. You may not know how hot the liquid is until you swallow. READ MORE

Why are my teeth shifting as I get older?
The most common reason is a shifting due to any missing teeth creating the teeth to move. They move because they can. Adjacent teeth do not hold them in place. The other reason is due to bone loss which causes a loss of stability. The roots are no longer anchored in the bone. READ MORE

Generally the recovery time for 3rd molar extractions is 2 days. If the teeth are impacted (hidden below the gum), it might be 3-4 days at the outer limit. It takes many weeks for the soft tissue or socket to heal but that usually involves rinsing the area. The fill in of the bone takes months but there is no treatment involved with that process. Absolutely not. Silver Amalgum is still the best material around (agree by most dentists that have used the material) and can last for decades. I have only four shallow fillings which were placed with silver fillings that are over four decades and doing fine. READ MORE
