Get to know Dentist Dr. John Addison, who serves patients in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Addison is a skilled and passionate dentist who looks beyond the mouth and focuses on the overall health of the patient. Striving to help patients gain health and confidence with a stunning new smile, he offers comprehensive dental solutions for the entire family at Addison Dental in Miami, Florida.

There, he manages everything from a children’s check-up to smile makeovers, cosmetic dentistry, implant placements and restorations, Invisalign, KÖR Whitening, home sleep studies, and treatments for sleep apnea and snoring. He and his team use the latest technology like DentalVibe painless dental injections, meticulous magnification using the dental microscope and loupes, lasers, 3d scanning, and diagnostic testing including Identafi® oral cancer screening, OralDNA® testing, MyPerioPath® and PerioD® Oral DNA testing, OraRisk® Oral HPV Testing, and Clifford Labs Material Reactivity Testing to ensure patients receive the best care available. 

Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. Addison obtained his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University. After spending some time in the medical research field and publishing multiple studies, he earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. 

In September of 2012, he purchased the office of Dr. Mark Fisher, a well-respected dentist who practiced in the Miami area for over 40 years. After working alongside Dr. Fisher to make sure each patient was well taken care of, Dr. Fisher’s retirement was complete and Addison Dental was born. Dr. Addison continues to care for patients in the same location continuing a tradition of exceptional quality, an aesthetic eye, and a gentle hand. 

Addison Dental was the first and one of the only dental offices in Florida that is Gold Certified by the Eco-Dentistry Association and one of the first 100 in the world to receive this award. This means that only the highest quality materials are used that are the safest and healthy for both the patients and the environment. Specializing in dental devices to treat sleep apnea, it is also one of the only practices in South Florida that work with patients’ physicians to provide comprehensive care for sleep apnea. 

Committed to continuing education, Dr. Addison takes many advanced courses each year to enhance his skills to serve the dental care needs of his patients better and provide them with a gentle and comfortable dental experience. He has been a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the American Academy of Sleep Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, and has served on the board of the South Florida Dental Association. 

With a passion for aesthetic and restorative dentistry, he has been recognized by the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry for his exceptional work. He is also board-certified through the American Board of General Dentistry, which is dedicated to advancing the practice of general dentistry by promoting a higher standard of knowledge and excellence through advanced education.

Utilizing the latest advancements in dentistry allows Dr. Addison to treat patients with less pain and in fewer visits which equals less time in the dental chair and more comfortable experience from start to finish. Dr. Addison’s office has also made incredible efforts to be COVID-SAFE certified including limiting appointments, treating the air with purification systems, disinfecting with hypochlorous acid, and acquiring extraoral suction units to limit aerosol production. Dr. Addison also enjoys lecturing and has authored articles in various dental publications and medical journals.

Outside of the office, he enjoys running, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
