Foamy urine may be from protein in the urine. But other reasons like full bladder, which can make your urine stream more forceful and faster and results in foamy urine, or very concentrated urine can cause foamy urine. What causes chronic kidney disease?
Some meds can cause kidney disease. Some systemic disease can cause kidney disease like lupus, hepatitis, etc., also. Or, some insult to the kidney that happened one time can slowly progress to CKD. Now, a few things you can do: check what the Cr level is. Check urine analysis, kidney ultrasound. If the urine shows any abnormality, you need further work-up. Meantime, try to be on a low-salt diet, avoid processed foods, lunch meat, etc., and avoid meds like ibuprofen, aleve, naproxen, etc. If you are overweight/obese, do wat reduction. How does a UTI turn into a kidney infection?
Urinary tract includes the kidneys, ureter, bladder, and urethra. If UTI goes untreated, it can affect the kidney and cause kidney infection or pyelonephritis.
