Dr. Jose Perez-Tirse attended the Faculty of Health Science at the Mother and Teacher Catholic University in the Dominican Republic, where he graduated with his Medical Degree in 1985. Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Perez-Tirse completed his fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center affiliated with the University of New Jersey, UMDNJ, and a further residency at West Suburban Hospital at West Suburban Hospital Medical Center affiliated with Northwestern University. Dr. Perez-Tirse is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and has earned the coveted title of Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Diplomat of the American Board of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Perez-Tirse has been the Chairman of Infectious Control, Pharmacy and Therapeutics at Kendall Medical Center, and Chief and Chairman of Infectious Diseases at Kendall Regional Medical Center since 2014. He previously served as Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Nova Southeastern University from 1999 to 2004. Additionally, Dr. Perez-Tirse is the Director of SEPSIS at Kendall Regional Medical Center where he participates in protocols for Septic Shock Management. He has also participated as a member of the Medical Executive Committee and Special Committee for Ebola Outbreak Diagnosis at Kendall Regional Medical Center. Also part of medical executive committee,Chief of Infectious diseases at Select Specialty medical center. Dr. Perez-Tirse was named Top Doctor of Infectious Diseases in the Miami Metro Magazine in 1999, nominated for Who’s WHO of Entrepreneur in 1997, awarded the National Leadership Award, Honorary Co-Chairman and Physician of the Year of the National Republican Committee, and received the title of one of America’s Top Physicians for Infectious Diseases. He has participated in lectures for Bristol Myers Squibb, Abbott Laboratories, Avantis and Pharmacia and Upjohn Pharmaceutical Companies, and attributes his success to his hard work and dedication towards patient care. When he is not with patients, Dr. Perez-Tirse enjoys playing basketball, reading and time with his family

Yes there is, best way is the use of condoms. There are meds you can use to prevent some types of STDs. If you know your partner has herpes, can use preventive acyclovir with the use of condoms.
