Dr. Kafiluddi is a Fellow of the World Institute of Pain, a Diplomat of the American Board of Interventional Pain Practice, as well as a member of the North American Neuromodulation Society and the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Kafiluddi completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in physical chemistry at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He subsequently earned his Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. Wanting to further his education, Dr. Kafiluddi received his Medical Degree (MD) from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1993. He then completed his residency in anesthesiology at Harvard University (Brigham and Women’s Hospital) and his fellowship in pain management and palliative care medicine at Penn State University (Hershey Medical Center). In 2004, he completed a fellowship in minimally invasive spinal medicine and surgery in Bothell, Washington.
Interventional pain management or interventional pain medicine is a medical subspecialty which treats pain with invasive interventions such as facet joint injections, nerve blocks (interrupting the flow of pain signals along specific nervous system pathways), neuroaugmentation (including spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation), vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, nucleoplasty, endoscopic discectomy and implantable drug delivery system. As an Interventional Pain Management Physician, Dr. Kafiluddi focuses on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of pain. He follows a conservative approach which is very much patient centered.
