Gregg G. Martyak, MD, is an established orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in hand and reconstructive microsurgery. Dr. Martyak is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a masterâ??s degree from Georgetown University. He gained his medical training at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his residency at the Rothman Institute at Jefferson, upper extremity fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand Center and is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been a staff surgeon in the U.S. Air Force and clinical instructor at San Antonio Military Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He has served in several overseas tours including Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also involved in the first hand transplant performed at a military facility. His recent publications and presentations focus on the advanced treatment of the upper extremity. Dr. Martyak is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in Hand and Microsurgery and is a professional member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
