Nicolaos Athienites received his medical degree in 1986 from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Thereafter, he trained at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and underwent a nephrology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Athienites is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He remains as a distinguished member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology, and the Massachusetts Medical Society. Dr. Athienites is an established Nephrologist who has been practicing for over 23 years and is currently serving patients at Renal Medical Care in Brockton, Massachusetts. He is also is affiliated with Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital and South Shore Hospital. Furthermore, he is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys: the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. As a Nephrologist, Dr. Athienites continues to provides exceptional services in general nephrology, amyloidosis, acute kidney failure, and acidosis. He attributes his success to Herculean perseverance and in his spare time, he enjoys ancient Greek exercises and Calisthenics.
