Landfried, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon currently serving his patients at Genesee Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Batavia, New York. In addition, he is affiliated with United Memorial Medical Center – Rochester Regional Health in Batavia, where he serves as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Chairman of the Department of Surgery. Identified by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s best orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Landfried joined Genesee Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Batavia, New York as a partner in 1990. He is also on staff at United Memorial Medical Center – Rochester Regional Health in Batavia, where he serves as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chairman of the Department of Surgery.

United Memorial serves residents of Genesee County and surrounding rural communities. The 133-bed hospital features a new, state-of-art surgical department, a wound care center, a telemedicine program for intensive care, a Joint Replacement Center of Excellence, two urgent care centers, and a number of primary and specialty physician offices. United Memorial is a NICHE hospital and a New York State-designated Stroke Center.

After earning his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Dr. Landfried went on to complete his residency at Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children and Hamot Medical Center, both of which are located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Before long, he became board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the doctor is a member of the Medical Society of the State of New York, the Western New York Orthopaedic Society, the Monroe County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.

Having worked with athletes of all ages, skill levels, and sports, Dr. Landfried was on medical staff of the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Club from 1994 – 2006 and currently works with the Batavia Muckdogs.
