Roy T. Hager, MD, FACS, is an established ophthalmologist who works at The Institute for Total Eye Care in Montgomery, Alabama. He performed his undergraduate training at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Alabama, now UAB. After serving two years as a General Medical Officer in the U.S. Army, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at UAB. In 1973, he began his private practice in ophthalmology in Montgomery. Dr. Hager is Board-Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is two-term past President of the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of several other professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology. His primary interest is in cataract, cosmetic, and refractive surgery.
