Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Robert James Fink, who serves patients in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Fink is one of three orthopedic surgeons in Chicago performing minimally invasive back surgery options to take out herniated, bulging, extruding, and extruded discs. He is also a personal injury doctor, specializing in workers’ compensation cases and car accident injuries.

At present, he sees patients at Gold Coast Orthopedic Spine and Hand Surgery, as well as remains affiliated with Methodist Hospital of Chicago. He is willing to see patients that have been injured in any type of personal injury case that involves orthopedic, hand or spine surgery. He will evaluate the patient and try to use conservative care if he feels he can get them better or he will complete surgery if it is required. 

Pertaining to his educational background, Dr. Fink obtained his medical degree from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1978. He then went on to perform his residency in orthopedic surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland. 

With over four decades of experience in his field, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
