Lori Abrams, DO, is a board-certified and fellowship trained GYN physician with Abrams Center for Women in Sarasota, Florida. Dr. Lori Abrams is a board-certified gynecologist and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She and her associates specialize in well-woman gynecology including annual exams, birth control options, hormone replacement, abnormal bleeding, and urinary incontinence. Dr. Abrams is a gifted surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive surgical methods, including laparoscopy, thermal ablation, pelvic floor reconstruction, and Essure, a non-incisional surgical procedure for tubal sterilization. Dr Abrams also has extensive training in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, including Botox® injections, dermal fillers, body sculpting, and treatment of spider veins. Dr. Abrams is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and served as Administrative Chief Resident at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania . With gynecology as her ultimate goal, Dr. Abrams spent a one-year internship rotating through different medical specialties prior to her residency. This well-rounded approach enhanced her medical education and training and broadened her knowledge base, allowing her to more effectively care for her patients' overall health. During her residency, Dr. Abrams was the recipient of the resident research award for her research into the psychological effects of hysterectomy. In 1997, Dr. Abrams and her husband, Dr. Bradley Abrams, a board-certified dermatologist, moved to Sarasota to set up their individual practices and raise a family. Dr. Abrams has been involved in the community since her arrival. She took an active role on the Sarasota County Domestic Violence Task Force and was appointed Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Doctor's Hospital for a two-year term. Currently, Dr. Abrams volunteers her expertise to ABC Channel 40 every other Wednesday morning for a women's health segment.
