Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Elizabeth M. Regan, who serves patients in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

A top professional in the field of emergency medicine, Dr. Regan sees patients at Advocate Christ Medical Center.  Additionally, Dr. Regan serves as the Medical Director of Disaster Medicine & Preparedness.  

Advocate Christ Medical Center is part of Advocate Health Care, one of the nation’s leading health care networks. A not-for-profit, 788-bed, premier teaching institution with more than 1,500 affiliated physicians, Christ Medical Center is one of the major referral hospitals in the Midwest for a number of specialties, including cancer care, cardiovascular services, heart and kidney transplantation, neurosciences, orthopedics, and women’s health.

Graduating with her medical degree from the Rush University School of Medicine, Dr. Regan completed her residency in emergency medicine at the Advocate Christ Medical Center.

An expert in her field, Dr. Regan is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM is one of 24 medical specialty certification boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician works in an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients on an unscheduled basis.

Dr. Regan holds additional training and certifications in emergency preparedness, hazmat operations, mass casualty care and triage, and EMS medical direction. She conducts emergency preparedness training and research and most recently has served as the campus Incident Commander for the Covid-19 Pandemic Response.
