His acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the University of Touro University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship at Riverside County Regional Medical Center. This was followed by a residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and a fellowship in Pain Medicine at UCLA/West Los Angeles VA. 

A member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the doctor is dual board-certified in PM&R and pain medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in PM&R.

Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Physiatrists treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Not only does Dr. Pang perform electrodiagnostic studies to help diagnose patients with nerve and/or muscle disorders, he is also well-versed in ultrasound and regenerative medicine such as prolotherapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection.

Pain management is a branch of medicine employing an interdisciplinary approach for easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with chronic pain.
