Acupuncturist

About

Sometimes in life, the passion finds you, and your world is never the same. This is exactly what happened to Brooke Zanni. There are truly no words to describe Brooke’s compassion, care and incredible healing gift to help others. Brooke has an amazing ability to connect with patients and participate in their healing process and assist in their path to achieving optimal wellness. She practices in Northport, Huntington and Hicksville, New York.

Brooke Zanni makes the nonbelievers truly understand that Acupuncture works! She is exceptional at what she does and has had success in helping her patients. She puts her entire heart and soul into her treatments and takes pride in getting to know each individual person fully.

She is different than other Acupuncturists out there. Brooke has grown up around Acupuncture since she was 7 years old. Being around such an incredible alternative medicine and learning so much about it at such a young age has given her a true advantage in being the best at what she does.

Afraid of needles? Brooke puts your mind at ease. She carefully and slowly explains how the needles are painless. The needles she uses in her practice are thinner than a strand of hair. She describes the experience upon insertion of the needle as being more of an “ooo” feeling, not an “ouch” sensation. When you feel that “ooo” feeling, it is the needle breaking up the stagnation causing disruption, pain and/or imbalance in the body and the Qi and Blood moving through that stagnation allowing proper flow through each channel and meridian in the body.

In addition to Acupuncture, Brooke also incorporates many other modalities into her treatments. Cupping, Slide Cupping, Electric Stimulation, Tuning Forks and soft tissue techniques are additional therapies she likes to add to her treatments.

  • Are acupressure mats safe?

Yes. They are good for massaging and stimulating key points on the body to promote deep relaxation and healing. Acupressure mats work by causing the body to release endorphins, oxytocin, and other “feel good” hormones which relax the mind and help the body naturally heal itself. Definitely do it! :) Brooke Zanni READ MORE

  • How does acupuncture help relieve allergy symptoms?

Hi there! Acupuncture helps tremendously with seasonal allergies. Acupuncture is about creating balance in the body. When you have allergies, there is something within your body that is not balanced. In Chinese medicine, the organs have many correspondences. Lung is the organ associated with seasonal allergies. I would tonify and nourish the lungs and feel your pulse and look at your tongue to see if there are any other things we have to target to create that homeostasis. Brooke Zanni READ MORE

  • Are acupuncture needles reused?

No, acupuncture needles should never be reused. READ MORE

  • How often should I go for acupuncture?

Everyone responds differently to treatments, and every situation is different as well. Most people I treat with chronic back pain will come to me a few times per week for about 4 weeks. Then they come in for maintenance when needed. I always say, do not wait until you feel pain again. So listen to your body. If once a month is working for you, then keep it at once per month. If you need more treatment, then go every 3 weeks, or every two weeks. Just listen to what your body is telling you. I hope this helps! READ MORE

  • When should I get acupuncture treatment for fertility?

    1) During the follicular phase - day 5, 6, 7 or 8 of your menstrual cycle (day 1 being the first day of heavy flow) 2) The day before, day of or day after ovulation (as indicated by your LH surge) 3) During implantation time (6 - 10 days after ovulation). This works out to be approximately once a week except when you are menstruating. If there is something more significant going on, like lining issues for example, your acupuncturist may want to see you twice a week until it is properly addressed. However, the majority of the women I treat fall into the once a week category. If you are going through an IVF cycle, it is best if you can start acupuncture 6 to 8 weeks prior to transfer. The most important times to have acupuncture are the same as above, however, once you begin your stimulation medications you may be seen twice a week depending upon information gathered from your ultrasounds. • How long do the effects of acupuncture last?

It's hard to say how long it will last, as everyone responds to treatment differently. I would say to go once every month. If you feel the pain coming back before your next visit, then make it every 3 weeks or every two weeks. The goal is to get you out of pain and have you come in for maintenance treatment BEFORE your pain flares up again. READ MORE

  • Does acupuncture help knee pain?

Her services include diet and lifestyle check to ensure her patients overall health. Acupuncture is a system of healthcare that has been developed, refined, and practiced in China for the past 5,000 years. In ancient times, acupuncture, along with herbal medicine, were used as the primary method of treating injuries and illness. It involves the superficial insertion of hair-thin needles into points on the body that have been proven to relieve pain and disease. Nowadays, most people come to an acupuncturist for medical problems that do not respond well to western medicine, such as drugs, surgery, pain killers, etc. Brooke attributes her professional success to how much she cares for her patients and their wellness.
