Why do they tape your eyes shut during surgery?
During surgery, if you don’t tape the eyes, they can open slightly and get dry which subsequently can cause corneal abrasions. Hope this helps. READ MORE
Do you feel pain during anesthesia awareness?
Anesthesia awareness is rare and ussually happen after trauma surgery or heart surgery is very unlikely to have it in any other surgery. Is anesthesia bad for your heart?
That is a complex question. Anesthesia by itself is not bad for your heart however some people have certain heart problems In which Anesthesia can indirectly affect compensatory mechanisms that eventually can make the heart condition worse. In a healthy person anesthesia is safe on the heart. Drugs used should be choose directed towards preserving the baseline heart. Some can depress the heart function while on anesthesia but this is not permanent and there are others that do not directly affect the hears READ MORE

Can you feel anything under general anesthesia?
No. General anesthesia is a drug induce loss of consciousness during which patient are not arousable and not responsive to painfull estimulation. On rare cases like severe traumas and cardiac surgery since there is patients that are hemodynamically unstable there is a tendency were the level of anesthesia is decreased in order to improve patient vital signs and in those patient we can see recall. What are the risks of anesthesia?
Short term are ussually post operative nausea and vomiting, allergies or side effects from medications including Malignant Hyperthermia which is rare (1:10000-15000) but well known reaction to inhaled anesthetics. Long term is very rare. Some possible complications are not related to the anesthesia itself but to the stress cause by the surgery (this is very rare on a 15 yo) READ MORE
