Get to know Internist Dr. Walter Rodriguez, who serves patients in Ocala, Florida.

Dr. Rodriguez is a well-versed physician in the field of internal medicine. He is in practice with Premier Medical Associates – Ocala Care Center in Florida.

Previously, he worked as a physician at Urgent Care Physicians of South Florida, and as a house physician and anesthesia technician at Palmetto General Hospital.

Graduating with his medical degree from University of Medical Sciences of Matanzas in 1991, Dr. Rodriguez went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York.

Specializing in the medical treatment of adults, he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Rodriguez is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists & Technicians.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

When not working, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys outdoor sports such as fishing, scuba diving, and racquetball. He is bilingual, speaks both English and Spanish fluently.
