Dr. Basnight, a well-versed family physician, is currently serving her residency in family medicine at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. The mission of the McLeod Family Medicine Residency Program is to graduate skilled physicians whose commitment to intensive training in caring for high-acuity patients prepares them to practice comprehensive and compassionate, full-scope family medicine, particularly in rural or under-served settings.
For more than 110 years, McLeod Regional Medical Center has consistently delivered compassionate, leading-edge health care to the people of Northeastern South Carolina and Southeastern North Carolina. The 461-bed medical center provides a vast array of specialized services in heart and vascular surgery, cancer, surgery, orthopedics, women’s and children’s services, and many others.
In 2018, Dr. Basnight earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Now a part of the McLeod Family Medicine Residency Program, she is receiving three years of rigorous training to prepare for her own future practice.
To date, the doctor remains a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, which was founded in 1947 to promote and maintain high quality standards for family doctors who are providing continuing comprehensive health care to the public.
