Get to know Internist Dr. Tameca Bakker, who serves patients in Naples, Florida.

A competent internist, Dr. Bakker established True Compassionate Care in order to facilitate a better patient-doctor relationship. She believes that thoroughly getting to know her patients is the key to successful treatment and good health. For the past several years, she has also served as a hospitalist at Health Park Medical Center in Fort Myers.

Graduating with her medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas in Saint Kitts and Nevis, she completed her residency in internal medicine at UPMC Pinnacle. She also received a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from Davenport University.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
