Get to know Certified Nurse Practitioner, Dana Jones, who serves patients in Teaneck, New Jersey.

A thorough and skilled nurse practitioner, Dana looks after the residents of Teaneck, New Jersey at Holy Name Medical Center. She brings years of skill, empathy, and a calming approach to her patients as well as a multi-faceted wealth of knowledge in multiple sclerosis and neurology to the MS Center team.

Since 1985, the MS Center at Holy Name Medical Center has served as a regional leader in MS care, providing unparalleled, holistic care to patients of all ages living with multiple sclerosis. Approximately 1,800 patients from the greater New York metropolitan region visit the MS Center for its clinical excellence, personalized patient care, and innovative clinical research. It takes a holistic approach to healing and has integrated its MS services with others throughout the hospital so that patients feel completely supported and cared for from diagnosis through treatment and maintenance. The MS Center is one of a select few multiple sclerosis centers in the region—and the only facility in Bergen County, New Jersey—to be affiliated with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Before joining Holy Name, Dana worked for seven years in the Neurosurgical Critical Care Unit at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Her other nursing experience includes primary and urgent care, oncology, and medical ICU. She encourages personal responsibility in healthcare, which includes attention to health maintenance as well as interactive decision making during times of illness. 

With a certification in critical care, she earned her bachelor’s degree from the City University of New York, Lehman College. She then completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. 

Holding herself to the highest standard of care, Dana takes a genuine interest in researching and educating herself on various new advancements in nursing so that her patients get the best and the most advanced treatment possible. She is dedicated to creating a positive patient experience for every individual.

A Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) is an advanced practice registered nurse and a type of mid-level practitioner. CNPs hold certification and are trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, as well as formulate and prescribe treatment plans.
