Get to know Podiatrist Dr. Jason Bell, who serves patients in Newark, Delaware.

With years of experience in his field, Dr. Bell is a board-certified podiatrist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle, sports medicine, and diabetic limb salvage. He sees patients at his private practice, Advantage Foot and Ankle Center, in Newark, Delaware.

Dr. Bell, along with his team, recognized the need to treat foot and leg ailments using laser technology due to the fact that not every patient they were treating needed an invasive treatment method like surgery. The Dr. Bell Laser Center is centered around a relaxed, medical environment where patients can benefit from the surgical background of the doctor and his professional laser-certified team. 

For the past 10 years, Dr. Bell has also been an attending physician at Christiana Hospital, where he is a member of the Residency Advisory Committee and the Department of Surgery. He treats all conditions of the foot and ankle with special attention to athletic injuries, surgery, and diabetic care.

A Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, whose mission is to protect and improve the health and welfare of the public by the advancement of the art and science of podiatric surgery. 

On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Bell began his professional career by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Hofstra University. As a collegiate baseball player, he developed an appreciation for athletic injuries and sports medicine, helping him choose his eventual career path.

He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He then trained as a resident at Wyckoff Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York City, New York and at satellite campuses throughout Queens. He concluded at Bryn Mawr Hospital in a two-year podiatric surgical residency program, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.
