Greetings! Thank you for your question! Can depression be fixed? As individuals, we can heal from depression, and depression can be overcome. There are different interventions that are essential in order to heal and overcome depression. The different components that need to be addressed are not just on a psychological(mental) level when it comes to depression but addressing the physical, emotional, environmental and even social are just some of the components that I am speaking of. What I mean by this is that depression affects all of those areas. Therefore when a therapist assesses and then provides therapy to assist someone that suffers from depression, it is necessary to identify the physical ailments that may be contributing to it such as unhealthy lifestyle patterns. Current stressors and past trauma that can impact one's emotional state that triggers depression levels. Overall, it is essential to understand that as human beings, we are not to be fixed as we are not robotics. However, we can heal, recover, overcome and it is a process, but it is possible.
