Born in Yokohama, Japan, Dr. Griffin spent his early years growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati, he went to work for the Environmental Protection Agency, in water quality and research. His calling to medicine sent him to the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, where he graduated President of The Student National Medical Association. After completing his medical internship and residency at The Christ Hospital and The University Hospital of Cincinnati, he came to Maui and initially worked with the Community Clinic of Maui and the Maui Veterans Administration..
In 2013, he became a MDVip wellness physician focusing on healthy lifestyle, wellness, early detection, and prevention. As an MDVip affiliate, he was joined by the Cleveland Heart Institute in providing the highest level of medical care available. “My approach to healthcare is like a ship and its crew. Each member has their specific job and responsibility. You, the patient, are the captain of your ship and I am your navigator on this journey to wellness and well-being.
