Board-Certified Expert in Colorectal and Minimally Invasive Surgery Enhances Division of Colorectal Surgery

Dr. Calata, a distinguished board-certified colorectal surgeon renowned for his expertise in colorectal and minimally invasive surgery, is affiliated with Froedtert Hospital & Medical College of Wisconsin. As an attending physician and Assistant Professor in the Division of Colorectal Surgery, he collaborates with esteemed colleagues, including Dr. Kirk Ludwig, Dr. Mary Otterson, Dr. Carrie Peterson, and Dr. Timothy Ridolfi, to deliver exceptional patient care.

A graduate with honors from Saint Joseph's University, he furthered his education at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he acquired his medical degree. Subsequently, he completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago Metropolitan Group Hospitals and his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

Board-certified in both colon and rectal surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Colorectal Surgery (ABCRS) and the American Board of Surgery (ABS), Dr. Calata upholds the highest standards of surgical excellence. His commitment to advancing the field is underscored by his fellowship status as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS).

Beyond his clinical practice, his dedication to service is exemplified by his volunteer work in El Salvador, Dominican Republic, and Rwanda, where he has contributed to improving healthcare resources and nutrition. Recognized for his exceptional contributions to education and patient care, Dr. Calata has received numerous accolades for his commitment to advancing surgical knowledge and techniques.

In his leisure time, Dr. Calata enjoys exploring his passion for cooking, traveling, playing recreational soccer, and rooting for his favorite sports teams.
