Hello! I am guessing a dentist or Hygenist told you that you needed a deep cleaning. If that is the case, most likely you suffer from gum disease. This is an infection in your gums that has a direct impact in your overall health. Unfortunately this condition can not be self treated and needs to be managed by a dental profesional. The reason why you can not treat or manage this condition at home, is because is very hard and honestly unsafe for you to reach deep into your dental pockets. There is risk for you to introduce bacteria to your blood stream by doing this at home. Also is very important that the proper technique and sterilized dental instruments are used. Mean while try to do your best at home with you oral hygiene, but my best advice to you is to find a good dental hygienist to manage your condition. I hope this was helpful. READ MORE

Depending on how damage your tooth is, your dentist my recommend a root canal and probably a crown or if there is not enough tooth left, he or she may recommend an extraction.
