Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Sruthi Chunduri, who serves patients in Portland, Oregon.

A trusted and caring psychiatrist, Dr. Chunduri diagnoses, treats, and prevents mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. She works with patients at Adventist Medical Center, which is a part of Adventist Health Portland in Oregon. 

Adventist Health Portland is a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare network consisting of a 302-bed medical center, 34 medical clinics and home care, and hospice services in the Portland metro area. The full-service acute care medical center provides a complete range of inpatient, outpatient, emergency and diagnostic services to communities on the eastside. Key services include cardiovascular care, emergency services, orthopedics, radiation oncology, surgery, imaging, rehabilitation, as well as labor and delivery.

Academically, Dr. Chunduri received her medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain in 2010. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed residencies in psychiatry at the University of Louisville in 2013 and at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2016.

Passionate about her field, she is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Alongside her clinical role, Dr. Chunduri serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine of Oregon Health & Science University.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.
