Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Joshua D. Namm, who serves patients in Hartford, Connecticut.

Dr. Namm is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon working as an orthopedic traumatologist within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Trinity Health Of New England in Hartford, Connecticut. His clinical interests include complex periarticular fractures, orthopedic surgery, orthopedic trauma, pelvis and acetabular fractures, as well as upper and lower extremity fractures.

Prior to joining Trinity Health Of New England, Dr. Namm worked as a physician in the Department of Surgery at Long Island Community Hospital and served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine.

As an educator, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine since August of 2021.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Namm graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Economics from New York University in 2007. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the New York University Grossman School of Medicine in 2012, after which he performed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2018.

Furthering his training, he performed his fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis / Barnes Jewish Hospital in 2019.

Licensed to practice medicine in Connecticut, New York, and Missouri, Dr. Namm is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. It is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
