She received her Master's degree in School Psychology from St. John's University and is a certified New York State school psychologist. Dr. Buczek received her Doctorate of Psychology from St. John's University as well, where she was extensively trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Dr. Buczek also completed her predoctoral internship as a school psychologist in the Pleasantville, NY school district.
Dr. Buczek then went on to complete her postdoctoral fellowship at Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants of Westchester & Manhattan (CBC) where she was intensively trained in providing comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) by Dr. Alec Miller and continued to be trained in CBT by Dr. Lata McGinn. Dr. Buczek remained a part of the CBC clinical team for six more years as a staff psychologist. During that time, Dr. Buczek was a part of the PCIT team and school consulting team, for which she provided school trainings and consultation in the school implementation of DBT and CBT across school districts in NY and CT. Dr. Buczek continues to be passionate about disseminating evidence-based treatment protocols at the universal school level. At CBC, Dr. Buczek also led 4-Day Intensives for the treatment of OCD and co-led DBT groups for adolescents and their families as well as DBT groups for the intensive treatment of young adults.
In 2022, Dr. Buczek founded Magdalena Buczek Psychology Services, PLLC, providing in-person treatment in Manhattan and telehealth services as well. Dr. Buczek continues to provide individual CBT and DBT treatment for children, adolescents, parents, and young adults.
