There are multiple therapeutic modalities that can help when treating an individual with depression. However, the essential component regardless of the modality is the fit between the therapist and client. If the connection does not feel authentic then it is difficult to mutually partner, establish trust, and create individual goals, both for the client and therapist. Most therapists offer a consult phone call to assess goodness of fit and allow for clients to ask any questions they may have regarding the process of therapy and what treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.) the therapist offers and has been trained in. Take advantage of these phone calls to assess goodness of fit for your individual needs. READ MORE

At this point, there are natural, cognitive/behavioral, and pharmaceutical treatments available. READ MORE
