Dr. Chalice C. Rhodes is a highly qualified Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Via her private practice, she specializes in providing telemental health services to a diverse clientele in Florida, Delaware, Georgia, and New Jersey.
With a rich background in counseling individuals across various demographics, including children, teens, couples, groups, women, and families, Dr. Chalice brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her practice.
She was the first designee of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society’s Psychosocial Oncology virtual academy, becoming a certified Psychosocial Cancer/Oncology Behavioral Health specialist. This designation is particularly meaningful to Dr. Chalice, as she is a breast cancer survivor herself. Her personal experience has sharpened her sensitivity and skill, making her a competent and effective care provider for the survivorship population.
Dr. Chalice’s academic achievements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rowan University, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree specializing in Human Services- Counseling Studies from Capella University.
Her postdoctoral work involved providing a wide range of therapeutic services to individuals and families in challenging circumstances, referred to by the NJ Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Additionally, Dr. Chalice supervised a program that recruited, trained, and licensed foster parents in Philadelphia, while supervising a partial hospitalization program catering to adults diagnosed with mental health and/or substance use disorders in New Jersey.
With a passion for teaching, Dr. Chalice has trained Master’s degree students in Dr. Harry Aponte’s Person of Therapist Training (POTT) model. Moreover, she has held various adjunct professor positions at universities, notably as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Counseling and Family Therapy at Drexel University.
With extensive experience as a seasoned clinician in counseling and family therapy, Dr. Chalice has honed her skills in guiding children, adolescents, couples, groups, women, and families at community service boards and a faith-based counseling center. Furthermore, she has completed Comprehensive Child and Family Assessments and crisis hot-line counseling.
Having been recognized for her contributions to the field, Dr. Chalice has received prestigious awards such as the Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions “2020 People of Purpose” Award and the Dean’s $10,000 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Research Award.
Alongside her professional commitments, Dr. Chalice offers specialized therapy groups for cancer survivors and runs a course focused on breast cancer survivorship known as Thrive: Breast Cancer Survivorship.
