The Children’s Medical Group (CMG) is pleased to announce that Dr. Kira Lawton, a trusted pediatrician with a passion for child health, joined their team in August 2017. With a wealth of experience and a commitment to nurturing young lives, Dr. Lawton is poised to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of children across New York.

Dr. Lawton specializes in a range of medical interests including dermatology, obesity, nutrition, preventive health, newborn care, and adolescent health. Her dedication to these areas reflects CMG’s mission to provide comprehensive healthcare services for children from birth through college age. With offices located throughout New York, CMG has built a long-standing reputation for excellence, accessibility, and compassionate care.

At CMG, the emphasis on establishing a physician-parent partnership is paramount. Dr. Lawton, along with her colleagues, is committed to encouraging healthy lifestyles and empowering children to make informed choices for their well-being. This approach aligns with the organization’s goal of teaching children how to grow up safe and fit.

A proud native of Queens, New York, Dr. Lawton pursued her education at Hunter College and earned her Medical Degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed her residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. 

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Lawton is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Honored as a 2022 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, Dr. Lawton is also affiliated with Nuvance Health - Vassar Brothers Medical Center, further enhancing her ability to provide top-tier care to her patients. 

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Lawton enjoys a variety of personal interests, including fashion, Pinterest, and attending music and arts performances. She has a passion for travel, with memorable experiences that include participating in a medical mission in Honduras with Global Medical Brigades and studying abroad in Bahia, Brazil. In her free time, she loves outdoor activities like biking and fruit picking, taking advantage of the beautiful farms in the Hudson Valley.

Dr. Kira Lawton is excited to be a part of the team at The Children’s Medical Group and looks forward to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families throughout New York.
