Get to know Physician Assistant, Laura C. Reidy, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

A board-certified physician assistant with special recognition in surgery, Laura has been practicing in dermatology since 2001. Laura has had the honor to train under world renowned dermatologists. 

Laura is currently a part of the team of professionals at Paradise Dermatology. Paradise Dermatology delivers the best-in-class comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatological care across three offices in Florida – Sarasota, Englewood, and Venice. 

Academically, Laura obtained her Bachelor of Science dual degree in Health Science and Health Education from Towson University where she was a member of the National Health Education Honorary Society (Eta Sigma Gamma) and earned the National Collegiate Education Award. She then earned her Physician Assistant degree from Anne Arundel College and completed additional internships in plastic surgery with Dr. Michael P. Vincent and dermatology with Dr. Robert Weiss and Dr. Margaret Weiss in 2001. Laura has been part of the clinical research conducted under dermatologists Dr. David J. Goldberg and Dr. Ellen S. Marmur evaluating cosmeceuticals, neurotoxins, fillers and lasers that are used in dermatology today. Laura has been an educational speaker for Allergan pharmaceuticals and has collaborated with focus groups for Galderma and Allergan pharmaceuticals for dermatological medications. 

She is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), which is the only certifying organization for PAs in the United States.  She maintains fellowship status with the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), and the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (FSDPA).  Laura can examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order diagnostic tests. In most cases, physician assistants work under the supervision of physicians, but they can work more independently, consulting with physicians only when they need help with cases.
