Get to know Certified Family Nurse Practitioner & Chiropractor Dr. Caron C. Pedersen, who serves patients in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dr. Pedersen is a certified family nurse practitioner & skilled chiropractor who provides the best adult and family healthcare services at her clinic, Pedersen Primary Care, in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has vast experience and a passion for helping those with complex illnesses experience optimum wellness.
To help individuals get and stay in good shape and the best overall health, she offers a variety of health care services, including: wellness care, men and women’s health, pain management, treatment for centralized pain / adhesive arachnoiditis / intractable pain, IV / nutrient vitamin therapies, and hormone treatments.
Providing primary health care, Dr. Pedersen works to prevent future conditions and develops a nutrition and exercise plan to maximize health and happiness. Above all, she strives to help each individual reach their “Healthiest Self” with their highest level of energy and mental clarity.
Having been in the practice of health care in many forms for over 25 years, she is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Medical Personnel.
At the start of her academic career, Dr. Pedersen graduated from Analy High School in Sebastopol, CA in 1984 where she played basketball, track, softball as well as participating in band. She acquired her 1st Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Nevada, Reno while on a Basketball Scholarship. She then practiced as a Chiropractor for over 15 years, both in the San Francisco/Bay Area and in Scottsdale, Arizona.
While in practice and training for marathons as a hobby, she acquired Valley Fever, which eventually affected her spine, and she underwent a severe health crisis, an autoimmune disorder, and back surgery. In this process, she could no longer practice chiropractic.
During her own healing process, she became fascinated with the study of chronic illness and began to study physiological biochemistry and how it is related to difficult diseases and disorders related to autoimmunity and neurological diseases as well as the processes of pain. She also studied nutrition and dietary counseling while acquiring a Life Coaching Certification to help communicate with patients.
Following her recovery, Dr. Pedersen acquired her 2nd Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Patients began to reach out with a variety of issues and in need of diagnosis and treatment. She realized, as in her personal experience, these patients did not know where to turn for answers. They were running from one place to another in an effort to seek information but were not empowered to make decisions about their situations. It became clear that she was in need of the ability to help in a more direct manner as a primary care provider and became an Advanced Primary Care Nurse.
With a specialty in central nervous system and autoimmune disorders, Dr. Pedersen is highly engaged in the current study, research, and practice of the treatment and care of patients with adhesive arachnoiditis and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
After practicing chiropractic for 18 years, she became a diplomate of pain medicine and anti-aging medicine, and has since lectured and appeared on television as an advocate for preventative care and advances in healthcare.
Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that mainly deals with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, including neck pain, back pain, headaches, vertigo and a long list of other ailments and conditions. They aim to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life by properly aligning the body’s musculoskeletal structure and enabling the body to heal itself naturally, without the use of medication or surgery.
A native of San Francisco, Dr. Pedersen currently resides in Scottsdale with her husband, Michael. She enjoys sports physiology, psychology and treatment as well as loves to watch football. She also loves to hike, travel, and participate in a variety of sports.
