Get to know Pediatric Rheumatologist Dr. Olcay Jones, who serves the Washington DC metro area at her private practice and at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Dr. Jones attended medical school at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and then continued her studies with a residency in pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Then, Dr. Jones conducted a Fellowship at the University of Chicago in pediatric rheumatology. Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric rheumatology, Dr. Jones holds a medical license in the state of Maryland. In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Jones works as an Associate Professor with George Washington University where she is able to train the next generation of medical professionals. Dr. Jones’ medical practice focuses on serving children with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, using regimens involving immune modulators, biological response modifiers and combination treatments. Additionally, Dr. Jones has conducted stem cell research on lupus mice model for protocol development to achieve remission, tissue repair and regeneration. To further the field, Dr. Jones has contributed her research findings to prestigious medical journals and has been published in The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation as well as Pediatric Focus. Dr. Jones stays up-to-date on developments in the field as a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.
