  • Throat issues?

It could be anything else. Think of each symptom as it's individual cause. Not all symptoms are attached to one answer. Reflux and diet can change the production of mucus in the throat. Pharyngitis, viral or bacterial, can be exhausting. Mononucleosis is a common viral illness in your age group. I would ask to be tested for that. Although with any viral illness, you have to just wait it out. Your body has to get through it on it's own. Rest, hydration, Tylenol and Motrin to keep the fever down. READ MORE

  • Ear

Try to pop your ears (valsalva) like you are on a plane. You may be simply feeling a change in the middle ear pressure. Peroxide softens any wax that is in the canal, it doesn't dissolve it. So if there is wax in there, it still has to come out on its own. READ MORE

  • My ear hurts and the right side of my face is red?

Hard to say. It can be tempting to look for a single answer to all your symptoms, but that's usually not possible. Ear pain can be referred (most common) vs directly from an ear issue. Such as jaw joint pain, or neck muscle strain. The face swelling could be an issue with the salivary gland draining properly. I would ask when it swells, is it associated with your eating? Did it go down with massage and warm compresses? Chronic throat pain in adults is most commonly reflux related. So do you have heartburn? Post nasal drip? READ MORE

  • I have swollen lymph nodes one year after hysterectomy and removal of one ovary?

I think you should be evaluated by your primary care doctor for these concerns. READ MORE

  • I've been sick for a week now?

Not yet. Typical virus upper respiratory illness can last 2 -3 weeks. As long as your fever is coming down with tylenol or Motrin, you will be ok. Stay hydrated. Rest. READ MORE

  • Nose bleeds?

Bleeding occurs most commonly from repeated trauma (picking) and dryness. Saline is helpful, but water based ointment such as aquaphor can be better. Apply this to the nose 2-3 times a day on a q tip inside the nostril for at least a week. You can use a nasal decongestant spray such as afrin, if you do have a bleed. Spray the nose and then hold pressure on the soft part of the nose for 5 minutes without peeking. This will help stop the bleeding by allowing vasoconstriction. READ MORE

  • How long does tonsillectomy pain last in a child?

Varies but typically a week. READ MORE

  • What is wrong with my ear?

Cool pictures. Could be a small amount of fluid in the middle ear space (behind the drum) or it could be some waxy build up on the outside of the drum. Hard to say. Either way, it doesn't look too bad at all. An ent needs to take a closer look. READ MORE

  • What could this lump be?

It looks like a papilloma. If you have ever been sexually active in your life, it could be HPV. Smoking won't help anything either. You increase risk of papillomas converting to squamous cell carcinoma. So stop that. READ MORE

  • Ear fullness

Go to a Walmart health clinic and get an audiogram, rule out sudden hearing loss. Then get a nasal decongestant spray, afrin, and use that 2-3x a day for 3 days. Get flonase and use that 2 sprays daily for 2 weeks. Keep trying to pop your ears. READ MORE

  • Eardrum looks funky? Also weird lump?

The lump is your malleus. its one of the ear bones. The only problem I see is the retraction of your ear drum, indicating eustachian tube dysfunction. Get some Afrin decongestant nasal spray. Use it twice daily for 3 days and try hard to pop your ears, like you are on a plane (valsalva). Start using nasal steroids, flonase, 2 sprays in each nostril daily. this will also help you to pop your ears. If the ear pressure does not clear, you need to visit an ENT and get a eustachian tube dilation. Otherwise, over time, the negative pressure on the ear drum will cause a cholesteatoma. READ MORE

  • Throat infection

Stop smoking. This will kill you. Tonsillitis will happen now and then. It hurts. Keep taking anti-inflammatories, and stay hydrated. It may take a couple weeks to get over. the lump in your neck is probably an inflamed lymph node, also common when you have any kind of inflammation. READ MORE

  • Could I (16F) have enlarged adenoids?

You likely are describing inferior turbinate hypertrophy. try a nasal steroid spray 2 sprays twice daily for at least 4 weeks. Its very unllikely that you have any adenoids left. Go visit an ENT and ask for an in clinic turbinate reduction. READ MORE

  • Throat issue

If you has a PTA (abscess) you would likely have fever. Tonsils will get swollen if you have any type of URI, like a cold. The tonsil may be swollen but PTA is pretty severe, usually can't swallow very well, and the voice sounds like you have a hot potato in your mouth. READ MORE
